Does LifeFlix de-interlace when upscaling to HD?

Many people ask the following about the LifeFlix upscaling feature:

• Does LifeFlix de-interlace when upscaling to HD? 
• Does it make NTSC footage become 59.94p from the original 59.94i (interlace) footage?
• Or, in the case of PAL, does LifeFlix make the HD footage become 50p from the original 50i after interlacing?
• Does LifeFlix retain the original 4:3 aspect ratio or is that optional?

By default, LifeFlix preserves the interlacing (does NOT de-interlace) as well as the aspect ratio.
