Your import interface has two different views. One for when no device is connected to LifeFlix and a second for when a device is connected to LifeFlix. You can determine whether a device is connected to LifeFlix by the color of the indicator next to the import icon.
- Yellow Dot: Indicates no device is connected.
- Green Dot: Indicates a device is connected and can be imported from.
When no device is connected: The import interface will allow you to select an Import source which can be your local hard drive or a connected Apple iPhone.
Note: Your iPhone must be recognized as a storage device from Finder before it is recognized as an import source from LifeFlix.
You may also import any video files that are discoverable from your Mac device by clicking “Select Files”. A single file or multiple files may be selected
Use the “Import To:” drop down to import your footage to a new album or an existing one that already exists..
The area on the right can be used to name the album and any other meta data associated with the imported file.
When a device is connected: The import interface will allow you to select an Import source which can be your local hard drive or the connected tape device. Your tape device will be selected by default when launching the import interface.
You should see “Source” listed as your tape device model along with all the fields to name your album and edit other fields of meta data.
“Compress video to save space” will import your video at a lower resolution.
“Create new scene for each segment” will detect the breakpoints of footage from your tape to create a new scene for each breakpoint that LifeFlix identifies. Disabling this will capture your footage as one continuous video.
Important! Disable this setting if you’re having issues with LifeFlix capturing your full tape or getting blank scenes after import.
Click record to begin capturing the footage playing from your camcorder.
Click stop to end the capture of your footage.
Note: LifeFlix v4.2.5 will not rewind your tapes before capture or begin playing your clips automatically when you start recording your capture.
